Work-play-work

Hakka* is a classic Scandinavian toy. Playing with it, you’ll use the wooden hammer to strike down all the 6 “nails” - only to be able turn the toy upside down and start over.

*from the Finnish verb hakata - to beat up, hack, chop off, etc.

In this work, I recreated a Hakka meant for adults. The work is participatory, allowing gallery visitors to use it as long as they liked.
