In the new residential area of Vuores, the waste collection system is highly automated. The system also collects information on when people take out their garbage, or for example recycle their cardboard. 

This light artwork reacts to recycling. Anytime someone recycles in the area, rings of water appear on the blue glass facade surface of the central waste collection building. 

This is an ongoing project, in collaboration with the art coordinating agency Frei Zimmer, and the local municipality. The architecture is by Arkkitehtitoimisto Vihanto & Co Oy.
