Autumn is here, and for me that has meant the start of a three month research residency with Residency Unlimited in Brooklyn, New York City. After about a year of preparation, I feel so happy to be able to take this time to both sketch new works, and to see new landscapes - both urban and natural. Below is a view from the aptly named Breakneck Ridge, just an hour by train north from Manhattan, that we visited a week after landing.
Another goal, that's more related to by work at Public Art Agency Finland, is to familiarize myself with the vibrant public art scene of the city. I hope to bring back a wider understanding of the differences and similarities of producing public art in North America vs in Scandinavia - perhaps there's things we can learn from each other.
